Radio Erabaru FM which is owned by PT. Radio Suara Harapan Semesta start to broadcast. At that moment, Radio Era baru FM has hold the recommendation feasibility from Indonesian Broadcasting Committee Riau Island Province (KPID) to broadcast on frequency of 106.5 MHz, and in themidst of getting the broadcasting license (IPP) Radio Erabaru which targeted its market to Chinese community and broadcasting in public format (music, entertaining, news, culture,commercial, etc), the mediation language use is both Indonesian and Mandarin. The broadcasting of radio Erabaru cover Batam, Bintan, Karimun, Singapore and Johor. In relation to the news program, there is also news about the human rights violation which happened in China such as killing and harvesting of organ from living Falun Gong practitioners, riots in Tibet,persecution of Moeslim Uighur, etc.

News posted on the website of Indonesian Broadcasting Committee (KPI) with regards to the request of Chinese Embassy to KPI to close down radioErabaru as it is seen to be broadcasting political propaganda that is ofdisadvantage to the Chinese government and accused radio Erabaru was funded by Falun Gong.

Radio Erabaru together with Legal Aid Center for Press (LBH Pers) andAlliance of Independence Journalist (AJI Jakarta) visited KPI to reject the accusation of the Chinese Embassy; and seen the Chinese Embassy act as an arrogant act of the communist regim system which tried to interfere with thefreedom of press in Indonesia.

Coalition for Press and Broadcasting from Legal Aid Center for Press (LBH Pers), Radio Erabaru, Alliance of Independence Journalist (AJI Jakarta),GHURE and journalists, take an action against the foreign interference to Indonesian Press in front of the Chinese Embassy in Jakarta.

KPID send letter to Radio Erabaru. The letter demand Radio Erabaru tochange the broadcasting program related to the mediation language.

KPID through Batam Post announced the FRB - Forum between IndonesianBroadcasting Committee and Department of Communication and Information that held on 5th of October 2007 - that 5 radio was passed and get theIPP - Broadcasting license, and Radio Erabaru was not on the list.

Radio Erabaru requested to KPID for the official letter of the FRB andthe reason Radio Erabaru do not pass and get the IPP, but as of to-dateRadio Erabaru don't get the official response that is objective andtransparent. On the other hand, Profile of Radio Erabaru (in terms ofmanagement, technical, human resources, financial,etc) is above the 5 Radio which passed the IPP (refer to attached)

Frenquency Monitoring House (Balai Monitor Frekuensi) Batam - Departmentof Communication and Information send letter to Radio Erabaru demanding for stop broadcasting (Off Air) as don't have the license.
